By sending massive amounts of email, Cyber Promotions slowed down the computers, and the delays in service and massive amounts of email in inboxes led some clients to cancel their accounts thereby causing CompuServe to lose money.
CompuServe was an ISP offering email and Internet access in order to make money; Cyber Promotions harmed CompuServe’s interest in making money when it caused clients to cancel their accounts.
