Consider what a broad right the section creates. Almost any time you access a computer, you do so intentionally, and under the way courts understand "obtain information," you obtain information.

A 1996 amendment: information includes information stored in intangible form. See the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act of 1995

Obtaining information includes merely viewing information without downloading or copying it. See Healthcare Advocates, Inc. v. Harding, Earley, Follmer & Frailey, 497 F. Supp.2d 627, 648 (E.D. Pa. 2007).

So virtually any access to a computer will violate the CFAA--as long as it is unauthorized.
